Slug damage in canola (photo: CESAR)

Evaluation of management strategies to effectively control slugs in the High Rainfall Zone

Client: Grains Research and Development Corporation

Project partner: Southern Farming Systems

Project delivery period: 2013-2014

In this project IPM Technologies conducted on-farm trials across western Victoria (Inverleigh to Hamilton) to demonstrate best practice to achieve control of slugs in canola crops.  An existing set of pest management options including cultural and chemical (baiting) methods were demonstrated on commercial farms with collaborating growers.  Field days were held at key times to show the results of the control methods to farmers and agronomists.
